Vegie Patch 07/08 : October 2007 - we decided it was time to put in a vegie "patch" instead of just planting vegies in amongst the roses - not that there was a problem with planting among the roses - we'd just run out of space! anyway, one vegie patch turned into three - plus we have planted pumpkins further down the backyard! we have plans to probably add a few more patches in future to add some extra vegies, and to be able to "rotate" the vegies for the best outcome year after year. This will be something of a photo journal of the vegie gardens and their progress. will add more as we take more piccies (or as i get time - have more to add now, but my computer runs far too slowly, so need to upload when i dont need to use the computer for anything else!) garden renos - September 2007 : September 2007 - we finally found the place that we wanted to put our water feature - we'd bought it a month after our wedding (so March 2006) cos we'd fallen in love with it - but couldn't make a decision about where to put it. we've got red hippeastrums behind it in the corner, have reshaped the garden bed to accommodate it - love how it turned out! Roses - Spring 2006 - Autumn 2007 : OK, so i've finally gotten around to uploading the piccies from the last rose season, just as the new one is beginning! All of these photos were taken from the 2006/2007 rose season, finishing around March 2007 - as we were initially planting out the garden. Unfortunately, i was a wee bit slack and didn't take notice of names of roses, so some of these poor tackers will be nameless - i promise not to be so remiss this season! i will name what i can of these ones over the coming days, and anything else - well, i'm sorry! Some pics there are multiple shots that look very similar - i got a new camera last year, and my roses are the easiest thing to photograph when i'm playing with settings! Hope you enjoy LMB 150907

Inside Reno - Entry Hall : Making over the entry hall - not really a lot to see from the earlier pics - basically it was just a dumping ground when i moved in - everyone walked in and dropped their shoes/bags there - and i hated it!! Quick timeline: September 2005 - just a couple of pics really - there wasn't much to see! April 2006 - we added the hallstand from my grandparents - i love it, and it looks gorgeous - it's a feature visible from the louge through the archway Late 2006 - Candle wall sconces added June 2007 - painting begins July 2007 - painting finished and furniture back where it should be - just have to get the candle holders up again and all done! Inside Reno - Dining Room : The first room we truly got to finish "making over"! pics range from September 2005 to July 2007 when we finished all the painting and moved the furniture back in - we still have to get the crutains replace! The painting took 3 months in this room - the painting only happened on the days it was too crummy to work outside, so the furniture would get dragged into the middle of the room, we'd paint some, and then move it all back again! it's nice to have a whole lounge room again seeing the dining room table has been living in here since April! Quick timeline of the makeover" September 2005 - we moved in here and a quick photo diary of the house showed it before we "gutted and restarted" - we have gotten rid of some of the furniture and replaced it with newer and/or matching furniture June 2007 - after moving the bulk of the furniture out of the dining room, and rearranging what was left, we managed to get the painting going in earnest. July 2007 - make over of the room is pretty much done - still a little bit of tweaking left (new curtains for instance) - but hey, it's getting there! The dining room has now become the storage room for furniture while we paint the loung room. September 2007 - new runner on the table and centrepiece added - we needed a heavy runner to stop the cats pulling everything off the table! LMB 080907
